Thanks, i like it a lot too :)

Fixed the Hagia Sophia main dome a bit since it used to have a washed-out tone in parts of it. (dl again if you want to).

It's a nice set. There may be some Philistines, to whom it will look similar to some of your other work - but they need to look at the work that's gone into the finer detail here! I particularly like how you've textured the roofs.

Is that a Varangian guard in Constantinople?

Thanks :)

Yes, that is a Varangian guard. I made the preview pic using the Twilight scenario about the Byzantine Empire.

I think that mostly the lighting has been improved in a major way when compared to my earlier works with Bryce and Blender.

Thanks :)

Yes, that is a Varangian guard. I made the preview pic using the Twilight scenario about the Byzantine Empire.

I'm just thankful it wasn't a Twilight scenario based on the film of the same name ;).

One question I have for you; some of your buildings are larger than the standard sets, and one effect of this is that they expand out into the coast - as per Constantinople in your screenshot. I'm not saying that this is "wrong" in any way and, in fact, may have been an intentional effect - I'm just curious if you were intending this to be the case.

I wanted the set to have a decent size, which is a bit larger in the metro than the one my populous "New Series" had.

That said, in the not so distant past i had created larger city sets using Blender. This one was a bit of a compromise, smaller all-around that some other ones, but with a massive metro centerpiece (Hagia Sophia). Metro and other city/town/walled town size is good in my view, even optimal :)

I think it's the perfect size - and have always thought that there's no point in having small-ish city graphics one can hardly see.
