I love the fact that now ou can load units onto helicopters ,,, i think that is great:goodjob:
 
too bad that the helicopters can only carry 2 foot units...i'm guessing that means no tanks allowed:rolleyes:

It would be awesome if I can load an army of e.g. marines,
since army is like one unit with multiparts...i wonder if this can be accomplished.:confused: (without tweaking editor)
if it can't, then editor will save me:D

Two partisans or paratroopers could do alot of damage.
 
yes, this is a cool idea...but i now wonder if the paratroopers are obsolete becuz of this fact, and also I think there won't be an attack helicopters...none in the tech tree :(

well, i think it's somewhere in the info center...
gosh, even with color-coding, it's still looking for a needle in a hay stack;)
 
Just for starters, you can move 'out of place' infantry to a spot where they can defend (like forest,mountain etc.) against enemy thrusts in ONE TURN! Instead of walking (takes too long). Saves other resources, like airpower or armor for offense/counter-attacks.

You can pick up paratroops dropped the previous turn that are away from roads and cities.

Dropping partisans behind enemy lines to destroy roads and rail sounds like fun.:D

Even regular infantry with helos are dangerous now. They could pop-up anywhere! :eek:

From the description, it sounds like you can drop in multiple spots, as well...

yupyup.....ahh it gives a warmonger like me a warm-glowy feeling inside even if infinite rail movement in enemy territory is lost:lol:
 
I love the idea of helos, but I think that with a good air defence they should be an easy feed for for fighters and SAMS… well we shall see soon, very soon. :lol:
 
i know what u mean...but people won't be dumb to just go blindly into enemy fighter and SAMs...they'll destroy those to oblivion by bombing and airstrikes first:cool: I can't wait until I try these nifty air missions!!
 
Escort your helos, and destroy SAM sites first.
Rule #1 - Helos are used in air-superiority.

Supposedly you can bombard city improvements now. I wonder if that includes surgical air strikes?
 
if u mean "precision-bombing" by saying surgical airstrikes, then yes:) ...except u need F15 or the stealth units...:rolleyes:
 
well…
1 if you are so strong as US and enemy’s power is Taliban alike – you do not have to waste time on your air drops. Why would you pillage something you conquest next turn?!?!
2 if you start bombarding others first, air drops would not be a surprise to them! – unless you play the easiest level.
Anyway, that is a cool feature and will be fun to implement in the game.

well it all depends how smart the AI is...whether is it smart ENOUGH to think about possible air drop ;)

Still, if one has air superiority over his enemies, then AI can't do anything about it, whether it likes it or not :D
 
Do you guys think that helicopters will be only for transport or will they have some attack value of their own as well?:cool:
 
I am assuming that the helicopter will be the same as in Civ 2 ,, just be able to transport two foot units
 
is this supposed to be the airlift mission for planes?...and that its really only for helicopters?
