Hi everybody. I'm kind of new to civ, but not. Anyhow, I can't seem to really get a good strategy down to get the game off to a good start. So, I was wonderin, if maybe some of you guys could like, give me a few tips on how to start a game. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the help, I greatly appeciate it.

When you finish reading the Cracker article this one is also excellent for starting a game:

http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3acad_deity_settlers.shtml

It is a step by step guide from 4000 BC onwards so you can quickly build a flourishing empire with many cities. (It says Deity but works even better at lower levels). I have been playing for 6 months until I read this article by Bamspeedy and found that it improved my opening game immensely. :goodjob:

Another useful article for beginners is Bamspeedys guide to getting to modern age at Chieftain (OTH If if you read his deity settlers guide then you might not need this :D ):

BTW If you stay at Chieftain you get bad habits, game is subtly different at higher levels. Chieftain is really good for learning the mechanics of the game though.
