Help!!civ4 Problem

I have all min requirements for the game but the ground(ie grass or mountians or water) is black. Everything else appears(ie units cities) but not the ground. If any one has this problem or knows how to fix it please help!

apparently, minimum isnt good enough. it turns out that your video card has to be extra crispy for the game to run "decent". So far, from what i've read, the game 3D engine doesnt like a lot of the video cards out there in La La land. Check out this site and see if your system pass the "minimum" requirements.

Open it with IE cuz you have to install some ActiveX thingy and Firefox just wont budge, dont worry, it's a legit site as far as I know and has been posted several times in the forums.
