Help installing mods

I have read the sticked topic about this so please don't cirect me there unless there is no other way

I have CivIv complete and with it came a few so so mods. I was looking to install some more to keep the game interesting but I can't seem to find the program files anywhere (windows 7) I am an admin but no matter where I look I can't find them (just the mydocument ones which from reading dont work for mods).

So could anyone be of assistance in directing me to where I can find them?

Is your CIV Complete installed from disc or a download version?

If it is from disc, look in the Programs folder. If you have 64bit Windows 7, look in the Programs (32 bit) folder. (I may have the latter folder name off a little but it is close to that.) This assumes that you let the game install where it wanted, rather than directing the install to a location of your choice.

If it is a downloaded version, the files are located elsewhere, and where that is depends on where you downloaded from. So, please specify.

Thank you! Yes it was from a disk I hadn't even noticed that other programs file folder

Left to its own "choices", Windows 7, 64-bit, will install any programs not specifically written to take advantage of the 64-bit environment in the alternative Programs folder. Only programs written since the advent of 64-bit programs, or modified to be 64-bit, go into the "main" Programs folder. Of course, when the installer runs, you can customize where the installation goes. For example, I have created a folder at the same level as the Programs folders, which I called Applications. I install everything there, which allows me to bypass the controls on program privileges that the OS applies to everything in the two Programs folders.
