Help making Bosnian civilization

OK I want to make Bosnia and Herzegovina as a playable civ.
I haven't got a clue about editing and modding in Civ4.
So if there are any ppl that wanna help out, we can make one together.

I haven't noticed any Bosnians on these forums, but if u are one or even if ur not, then feel free to help!!

Here's how it goes currently. Since Bosnia is split between Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats, making a Bosnian civ to represent all three is impossible. But what is possible is to make a Bosniak civ.

If you're willing, we can do it together, I know how to make mods, made two already, Croatia and Hungary.

So, here's are my current ideas:

First, the flagdecal would be the lily.

Second, leaders: Mehmed Paša Sokolović and Husein kapetan Gradašćević. I would not use medieval kings of Bosnia, because a Bosniak will say they were Bosniak, Serb will say they were Serbs, Croat will say they were Croats and the result will be classic Balkanese flamefest. I also do not wish to use anyone of modern history, like Alija, to give history room to evaluate their historic roles. Same reason why I will not use Tudjman for Croatia.

Third, unique units: Jannisary, or sipahi, I'd use the opposite of what the Turkish mod uses.

And finally, fourth: City list. This is a touchy subject, and I'd restrict the city list to places where Bosniaks were majority in the 1991. census.

It would be best to compile a list of cities where Bosniaks made 50%+ of population and then sort them out by size.

nah i'm not doin that
if i wanna play a all muslim civ, then ill just choose the ottomans or the arabs

im making a civilization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, population Bosnian and Herzegovinan, major cities Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Mostar etc......
the flag is the new flag "sir i zvjezde"......

i dunno why all Cros and Serbs make all these civs from 500 yrs ago, when ur land area was the biggest (not sure about Cros but it is the case with Serbs putting Sarajevo as part of their civ, lol they wish). i just wanna do a civ of modern Bosnia and Herzegovina (that is today - 2005)

you can help me if u want by posting some good links to tutorials that show how to edit civs, cuz i havent found anything so far

Well, Jecrell has a good tutorial, look it up in tutorial folder(Link). But if you really think there is a unitary bosnian civ and that it represents both three peoples, explain it to the Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats, myself included, since most of us fail to recognize it.

Anyway, I did not put Mostar, or Sarajevo in Croatia civ, just the cities and islands in Republic of Croatia, not even Široki Brijeg. But I would have moral issues about a civ lead by a non-Croat that has Croat cities in Bosnia on its list. And if it also has a non-Croat UU, like the Jannisary... well, thats an insult to Bosnian Croats. See what I mean. You got to pull one up front, and if you do, you step on the other two. Try out Srdjanns' Yugoslavia mod if you're into fraternity and unity. I still see no such symbols in todays Bosnia outside of Arizona market in Brčko distrikt.

i to sto mislis da niko od entiteta neprihvata BIH, i tu si pogresan. Pogledaj nasu fudbalsku reprezentaciju. Sergej Barbarez, Hasan Salihamidzic, Ivica Grlic, Milenkovic, Bajic, Spahic, Sasa Papac, Bajramovic....
i to malo po malo sve vise Bosanskih Srba i Bosnanskih Hrvata igraju za BIH i to ne samo u fudbalu.

If u don't like the Civ I'm doing then go elsewhere.

By posting your intentions to make a civilization on a PUBLIC FORUM , you open up discussion TO THE PUBLIC. You cannot block someone out unless they "flame," "spam," or cause other trouble. Anima_Croatorum has done none of this , and thus his input is both valid and fair , and deserves to be here.

Please have more respect , save your language for private messages , and refrain from calling other members idiots.

You asked for help, Anima Croatorum said what his conditions are and that's it. If you don't like them you don't have to take it but he still has got to have a right to have an oppinion. I'm sure that there are a lot of people who do not approve or like Yugoslavia mod which was created by Anima Croatorum and me (just look at the ratings at main page ), but nobody (and I repeat nobody) tried to stop us doing that or said anything against it. They just didn't participate and that's all.

Anima Croatorum said that he is interested in making Bosniak's mod, you said that you don't want to make such and that's the ned of the story. You'll just have to find somebody else to help you with, but since you reacted like this I'm not sure if there is anybody who will help you anymore.

And at the end, you missed something what Anima Croatorum said because you flamed in a second... Without matter on his political possition he didn't involve any city in Croatia mod which currently is not a part of Croatia and that's, like Shqype said, because he didn't want to offend anybody. Therefore I'm sure that if you make a Bosnia and Herzegovina mod with all cities (including Banja Luka and Mostar) nobody would be offended and nobody will protest against it even though some of them will not like it.

They have got a right not to like it and you have a right to make it and to distribute it to all the people who will like it.

i just wanted to make a civ of the current country, with all the cities and so forth.
he believes that only cities which have a major muslim population are Bosnian cities and that the others belong to Serbia or Croatia (even though they are part of Bosnia and are genuine Bosnian cities), and that is purely redneck if not slightly facist.

Also, yes this is a public forum. However if he doesn't recognise Bosnia and Herzegovina as a country and believes that half of it belongs to his Cros, then he should go somewhere else because this is a civ about BIH.

P.S. i dont wanna talk about this anymore. if any1 has any good suggestions about unique units, leaders and stuff then plz come forward

Perhaps I should include both Croatian and Bosnian cities into an Ottoman mod and if they don't like the UU Janissary, enlist children of them both. That will sure unite them

OK, no problem.
I don't care what civ he makes. He can include Tokyo as part of his cities. I couldn't care less. If he wants to include some "Croatian cities in Bosnia" then he can go ahead. (Mene je vec uvredio kad je rekao da kao ja trebam biti zahvalan zato sto nije ukro Bosanske gradove kao Mostar itd.)

He did pi** me off though when he said that I have to explain why I'm choosing to include all the cities in Bosnia, and why I'm choosing to make a united country, as if I was "taking" one of "his" cities without asking.

P.S. if all u ppl r so racially heated with "Croatian cities in Bosnia" etc..
then maybe we can all together make a scenario about the war in Bosnia

this is what i was thinkin about so far:

special civ attributes - industrious and riligeous
leader - haven't got a clue who i can put so that no-one is offended? lol maybe a soccer player. i guess i can find some medieval king or i could just have the flag and "BIH President" or i can just put the dude that is the current president????

when it comes to leaders i know just as much as u, i guess i'll have 2 sit down one night and look em up. im really busy now with uni n all, but ill do that when i get some time.

All muslim, ergo Bosniak.

So, what makes this mod Bosnian and not just Bosniak other than using city names of places that are not inhabited by Bosniaks only?

1. Flag that was enforced after no agreement on flag could be reached. Its ok, but is more of an emblem of lack of unity than unity, not all that relevant. Flag is ok.

2. Bosniak UU. It did defend the Bosniak people after they decided to stand up to Serb aggression, but it also performed ethnic cleansing of both Croats and Serbs in the territory it held. It does represent Bosniaks, but to claim it represents either Bosnian Croats or Serbs would be an insult, esp. to people whose family members were killed by them.

3. Leader. Any leader post Stjepan Tomašević is again insultive. Any muslim from the Ottoman era stands as a symbol of oppression over Christianity. Kallay, Burian? Austrian governors not needed. Tito, maaybe, but most of Herzegovina hates him with a passion for mass executions post WWII. Zlatan Ibrahimovic might be neat, but he's Swedish. Current president? Which one of the three? Or maybe make one with three heads. Jović, Paravac and Tihić on one body. Or go for Paddy Ashdown, international man of mystery.

Real leader candidate would be Tvrtko Kotromanić. And then go for some medieval unit.
