Whenever I go to run civ3 play the world editor this error shows up:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

c:\program files\civ3\civ3ptw\edit.exe

Abnormal Program Termination

I have downloaded and installed the latest visual C++ runtime library yet it didn't solve the problem. What the F*** is wrong here? I've tried everything short of getting a new PC. I've tried getting rid off background apps, updated my video card to latest drivers, installed directX 9, updated my bios, asked microsoft for help on this runtime error issue and I'm back where I started.

If you can help me solve this problem I will be your best friend.
