Long-time Civ (for PC) addict here. New to Civ3 for Mac. I've been scouring through the Mac forum and am now totally confused and need your help (please forgive my Mac ignorance).

I have installed Civ3 Mac and updated to 1.21g. What I'd like to do (wouldn't be all?) is to try and replicate the richness of the of my latest Civ3 PC experience including as many of the features (if not the scenarios) of Conquests as possible.

To that end, first, could someone please point me to the download for Civ3Edit for Mac, if it exists? Or tell me how to use the PC version on my Mac?

Second, what I'd like to achieve is to have as many civilizations, resources, technology trees and other options as possible with the Mac game. I really don't care about scenarios. Can someone guide me through which downloads/patches/utilities are available for Mac, keeping in mind that I need detailed explanation and links to downloads?

Again, my primary objectives are to get Civ3Edit for the Mac version and to enjoy as many civilizations, resources, technology trees and other options as possible with the Mac game.

Thanks for your help and patience.

Civ3 Edit

Be sure to install it on a v1.21 of Civ3, keeping the app inside the main Civ3 folder.

Why not install the DYP (Double Your pleasure) Mod, which needs to be installed over v1.29b2 of Mac Civ3. Download v1.29b2 (Mac) here

Thanks very much for the responses. I found the Civ3Edit program and installed it. If I upgrade to 1.29br and DyP will I lose the ability to use Civ3Edit?

Thanks again.

Yes, you will. But that's not a problem... you can have a second install of Civ3 for DYP, or even a third to run GOTM scenarios, as many Mac Users on this Forum do.

I have 4 installs of Civ 3 on my eMac - a v1.21 for using the CivEditor (it only works with v.1.21 - v. important fact!), a second install of v1.29 (for running regular Civ3 games), a third v.1.29 which runs a smallish mod of my own (which I made earlier this year with the Editor in 1.21 and then copied across), and finally an installl of Civ3 DYP as explained previously...

Hope this helps!

I did a second install with DyP today and everything seems to be working fine (what an amazing tech tree!). So, I seem to be pretty much up to speed and am very satisfied with Civ3 for Mac.

Now, abou that GOTM thing. . .
:crazyeye:
