Help to finish my WW1 scenario

Thanks man! I could need all the help I can get...

Worked alittle bit further on the units graphics. Added a Panther tank, a T-34, a Matilda tank, a spitfire and a Me-109. Thought that this could be a scenario wich ends somwhere in the second world war. What do you think? Was the previous sollution a better idea?

I have to say, very, very nice units, dude!

I would keep the Me109 and Spitfire, but make them end of tech tree 'super units'...very hard to research...

I would maybe drop the WW2 tanks in favour of your current WW1 designs, the British MKIVs and German AV7s...they rock!

PS
Do you want me to knock together some sheilds in the same style as the ones I used for Dictator MGE?

Curt.

Allright, how about this? I actually got a little spark inside me now, saying "Finish this off you idiot"! The only motivation I have is a ton of units wich I have made for a ww2 scenario...But I don't want to start it before I have comlpeted this...

Anyway, I thought of the units shown above. Isn't it a waste of space for other units to have a special artillery unit for each civ?

Eivind IV, In the same style as before, please post your current units.gif,

and I will get to work ASAP!

Do you want me to keep the little flags on the troop formations,
or do you want me to remove them in favour of high-quality shields?

Some of the units may be tricky as the take up all available room.
But I can improvise, and put shields where appropriate.

As soon as you get back to me I'll begin!

:goodjob:

Maybe you could change the barbarian leader in some sort of "African tribe leader"?
And have lot's of Barbarians in e.g. Sudan and Congo and some other countries as well.

Hmm...dunno.

A Zulu leader cropping up in siberia may be a problem!

I usually have the Barb leader as an 'officer' unit or a command vehicle.

Eivind IV, your diplomat slot is taken up with one of the WW1 fighters, the Eindecker, I think.

I would consider creating a 'General' unit. and putting it in the slot where the diplomat (not the spy) goes.
This guy could be static or low movement-high defence, and be
used to defend strong points.

And double as a leader for barbs, if you use em.

This certainly holds promise. I've waited a long time for a halfway-decent WWI scn., and have found only some okay ones. I've resorted to making one myself! It sounds to me that you're almost done. What's left? I'd be happy to help, if I can. Especially with the text files (such as game.txt). I may also be able to playtest it some when you're finished.
Regarding Africa: The continent had little effect on the war's outcome, but it's nice to see you putting it in. The cities look overspaced, however. I would recommend downsizing it a little, though I realize that's a ton of work.
As for the Barb-leader, an officer graphic would work best.
Regardless, I'm looking forward to the release!

I dont know if this game will ever be released...Even though I am close to an end, I am all fed up and will go over to a new project. Is there not a website where I can send over all my stuff? I think Case spoke of a civ2 site with unfinished scenarios.

Anyway, I am willing to send over all my work, so anyone can go from there. Just let me know...

Thanks anyway :)

1 question: Why is the T-26 and Pzkw 1 in there? They aren't units, are they?

Eivind, dont give up hope! if you want any help just e-mail me and i'd be happy to help, a (new) decent ww1 scenario is badly needed. i'd even be happy to finish the whole damn thing off for you if you dont mind, i'd hate to see such hard work go to waste! u can email me if u so wish at Poontang61@Hotmail.com

DON'T QUIT NOW!!! You can do it! As The Limey mentioned, a new decent WWI scenario is badly needed, and this one looks to be very good. As I said earlier, I'd be glad to help, or at least work with The Limey, if you decide to hand it to him (and he wants my help).

Hmm...I am flattered :) Allrighty then! Lets resume the work, I have some exams going on now, so I'll mail it all to you Limey. :) Just post your e-mail Major and I'll mail it to you as well...

good good my man, tho it still hasnt arrived. I thank you for the privelege, and as my exams are just about to finish, the christmas hols will be the perfect time to do this up in. Major General, i would like any help that is offerd to me, and as ww2 is my main theater of operations as it were, any info on ww1 would be appreciated, any recommended books or websites? i wanna do u proud Eivind! also, i love the army groups of infantry and the trenches, but i wonderd, i just saw jimmywax's AV7 and i loved it, would you be too averse to me changing the tanks and planes? also, are the sounds done? if not dont worry, i have some ones i think will be just right........
looking forward to the arrival of the scenario in my inbox.

If you look in your e-mail box Limey, you'll find my work.

I don't want to change the graphics for this scenario. Apart from that I'll leave most of it to you. I belive there are room for a new graphic though, we might place it there...?

If you just could be so kind to post your progress on this forum, I would help whenever you need it, whatever it might be.

I used these books:
- World War 1 - Day by day (Ian Westwell
- The Historical Atlas Of World War 1 (Anthony Livesay)

Thanks again... :)

Alright, Eivind! :) My e-mail is vidgame@aol.com
As for recommended books, Limey, here are a few:
"The World War One Source Book," by Philip Haythornthwaite
"The First World War," by John Keegan
"The Myth of the Great War," by John Mosier
"The Wars of America," by Robert Leckie provides a nice overview of this and other wars, and finally
historychannel.com is always a good source of information.
Oh, yes. Shall we simply post our progress here, or shall we communicate by e-mail, or PM perhaps?
