HELP V1.61 problem

I have just downloaded and installed the new patch and the game starts ok but when it comes to the menu i have no words I've got a screen shot of it please tell me how to fix it

You probably have a Mods loading with your game, or your Custom Assets folder in your Documents\My games have some modifications.
To fix this issue,

in your:
Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\_Civ4Config.ini
; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
Mod = 0

in your documents:
My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4
Delete "CustomAssets" Folder
Start a new game and it will create a clean 'CustomAsset' folder for you

no i have no mod at all. only units i have added i have uninstalled and reinstalled the whole game and its now ok.

Was probably a Civ4WeirdBug.xml

Hi. I have the same problem.
I have Civ4 with ITALIAN language.
Choosing ENGLISH language in options-menu fix the problem and words on menu re-appeare.
I have re-installed Civ4 with patch 1.52 !!
