help with this "Screeching" noise.

Can anyone tell me how to fix that extremely loud, annoying, shake me out of my' couch "Skreech Static"? I'm not the smartest computer guy, so, a nice, simple solution is needed. I can't really navigate the computer, but I can play me some Civ, so, please...

Try reinstalling. Perhaps a file was corrupted on the initial install.

Or turn off your speakers. That'd work real quick.
