is the slowest moving, most neglected place on the net after the "Ladaformula1racecars" forum was taken off line. What can we do about it? Integrate it with off topic? ehhh, I am out of ideas, but mods and posters, do you agree that this forum is sadly neglected?

No, I assume you created it for a reason, but while the off topic is booming with threads, the history forum is not. Heck, even site feedback gets more attention then the history place.

AoA, how about paying 10000$ to every poster that creates a new thread there or something?

I very rarely visit the History forum, and I doubt that will ever change.

If you want more people to come, maybe you could put a link to it in a large font in your sig (but don't make your sig the equivalent of more than 5 normal lines long).

A large number of my posts goes into the History forum. Anybody who messes with the History forum will mess with me...

I find the History forum to be more congenial, insightful and informative than the OT. Besides, I like history about a thousand times better than I like politics or mundane personal preference stuff...

Though I don't post a lot there, the History Forum is still one of my favourite CFC forums. However, it does have a problem, but it's probably unavoidable. I find it to be too full with WWII and warfare (particulary modern). After some while it becomes really boring, particulary for a person like myself who has no interest at all by military history and not so much also with WWII or the american civil war (another usual topic).
But ZoZ is also right. If more people took part, we'd get more diversity.

WW II is a popualr topic, but I also have long been bored with it.

Yes history is the best, as it is a place where you can learn a lot, while mostly avoiding the quagmire of political debates in OT.

Just took a look at today's threads (and the persons who started them). Someone has taken your suggestion a little bit too serious.

The History forum shouldn't go in Ot, but it needs to be seriously revived.
I think the main resaon wgy people don't go there anymore is that the same topics are debated over and over... Especially, WW II. so IMHO, there should be a sticky prohibiting to post 100 threads about the same topics.

I'd like to talk about Chinese history, but obviously not many will talk with me about it... Apart fr posting questions...

The forum is fine as it is I think - leave it be. There're other subforums that receive even less traffic...
