HOF Update: New Website

#1 is a game that has been accepted but not published yet. That's a bug with the game_info.php page, it should say #1 until it's official. I'll fix that straight away!

You'll have to wait for the update to see. It's possible that the unpublished #1 20k was a played by a staff member. Said staff member may have intentionally cheated as part of routine screening of the authentication process, and said game would be removed before the update.

When I look at two peoples Histographic ranking on the Quartermaster table I don't get the same numbers. In order for me to get a normalized ranking I had to take a persons rank on the histographic table subtract 1 then multiply that by 9 divided by the total number of people on the table minus 1. That number is then added to 1 for the normalized rank. Equation looks something like (rank-1)*[9/(total-1)]+1. It looks like the [9/(total-1)] term is using (10/total) to get the normalized ranking.

I finally got around to fixing this. It now correctly scales between 1..10 using a formula that looks remarkably similar to yours .

Wow! I go AWOL for 6 months because of work commitments, and upon meandering back to browse the HoF i see complete overhaul!! Cracking job chaps, 11 out of 10!

When I checked back here 5 minutes ago, I had no intention of blowing the dust of Civ 3, and was content to wait for IV, but the new HoF seems to have mystical motivational powers!!

Time to learn about those crazy fastest finish games methinks *scurries off to read boogaboos entire back catalogue of posts..*
