Hello,
I am new to this site, but I have had Civ IV for more than a year and I have noticed a bug in the hotseat mode. Player 1 can trade with other humans by giving something and expecting something back, but the other humans can't give him/her anything. Also, there have been a few instances where Player 1 has had his/her capital about to grow, but it doesn't. It stays at 6 or 7 or whatever population for the rest of the game. I have tried starving it down and growing it back up again. I just downloaded my first patch and haven't installed, so maybe that will fix it.

1. Try the patch.
2. Hotseat trading is a bit confusing, but eventually you can figure it out. Since in Hotseat you are presumably all in one place, you can negotiate the deal in detail, then just execute it.
3. DLCI is nonsensical in Latin numbers. DCLI is six hundred and fifty-six; four hundred and sixty-one is CDLXI. See [wiki]Roman numerals[/wiki] on Wiki. Just FYI.
