Personal Note: Don't know if anyone added this yet, but here ya go, because omfg this was annoying the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. Seriously Firaxis, you need to give more love to Hotseat, because again, OMFG!
- If you want to add more than 12 players to civ 6 to a hotseat, follow these steps.
Steps
1. Go into: Program files (86x)/steam/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Base/Assets/Configuration/Data
2. RIGHT CLICK on MAP SIZES, select OPEN WITH, select NOTEPAD.
3. select the size of map you want to edit for player size. MAPSIZE_LARGE or MAPSIZE_HUGE for example.
4. What you want to find is DefaultPlayers and then change the value in the " "
for HUGE I changed the value from "12" to "16" then save your changes.
Extra step?
Not sure if this is needed, probably not, but go ahead on do this anyway.
5. Go into: Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Base/Assets/Gameplay/Data
6. RIGHT CLICK on MAPS, 'open with' your notepad, and scroll down to <maps>
7. Change the DefaultPlayers=" " to the number you chose above, example from "12" to "16" if you want 16 players.
Hope this helped and hope I'm the first to post this.
FINAL NOTE: You don't have to change the value to 16, I think the max you can go is 20, but I have yet to test this.
