Houston we have a problem

After I figured out how to manage $$, won a game decently (only one city left not mine). Ended way ahead at 2050. However, decided to "play a few more" to see how far I could go. After total world domination, and receiving all techs up to Future Tech 9, built my spaceship - complete - but cannot launch it. Is this only an option during pre-2050 play? I'm at like 2410 and cannot even view the spaceship any more. What's the deal?

Yeah, you can only launch during regular play IIRC. Since you cannot win the game after 2050.

Bummer. Well, at least I figured out how to use everything -- now I just have to get there faster. Even survived the nuclear holocaust I put poor New York through. (Need to be a little more careful when playing with those ICBMs!)

i think you can edit the game so that the date is < 2050. don't know if the spaceship still launches though.
