The ISP did some tests or something and our internet was down. However somehow the router got FUBAR'd and wont internet. Itll connect two computers together but not the internet. Tried resetting it, no luck. Internet works fine directly to modem. We're using an old router for time being. How the heck could this happen?

The ISP people couldnt explain it.

Sorry for weird typing, mom has a stupid rubber keyboard

Without knowing more, and being there, it's very difficult to say definitively what happened.

OK, I figured out more. One of the tenants in the building didnt pay her bill and the ISP accidentally disconnected everyone in the building. Then they fixed it but our router didn't work after that.

Are you sure it is your router and not you modem?

The modem works fine both directly to computer and attached to the spare router.

Did you actually reset the router, or just reboot it?

Reset it with the little button in the back that you need a pen to hold down. (Did they design it that way on purpose? Its a pain.)

OK. Here are some more crazy updates. So anyways it was working fine on the old router and then the power goes out. The internet kept randomly cutting after that. And then we swapped out the routers again and it worked again so apparently the router wasnt bricked. And then the ISP randomly decided to upgrade the lines without telling us the internet went down. My mom pulled the fuse trying to fix it (I dont know what the heck she thinks its supposed to do) BEFORE calling them. And then the internet went down for the entire building.

So they came up and it turns out something on the line was fried or something and they fixed that and then they replaced our modem which I think is at least 5-6 years old. They gave us a new modem.

So Im not exactly sure what was going on this whole time.
