How do I get started?

Hi, I'm new to this site, and would like to try a PBEM game. I have the v1.22 patch. How often do new games start? I am not a great player (would like to be) but should be consistent.

I don't think there is a regular frequency for starting PBEMs. I can say a bunch have been started in the last month and a half, so I am not sure many new ones wil start soon. Anyway, you can see new openings by going to "Civ3 GAMES REGISTRY" where new games are publicized then join in. At the moment I believe the only one recruting is my "Bikini" WWII Pacific scenario PBEM.

Other possibility, you check in the "REPLACEMENT PLAYERS HALL" for replacements are sometimes needed in playing games.
