Hi!
I recently moved up to immortal and have been practicing an interesting map with Pericles. I have tried it around 7 times and I think I won 1 or 2 times. Attaching the worldbuilder save. Would be really interested in your takes on this map and to see how you approach it.
My thoughts so far:
Start seems quite tricky, since worker would have nothing to do at first. Researching animal husbandry just for plains cow does not seem very good. Yes, we've got gold, but the land around seems quite poor. On a high level, I see 2 main strategi options:
1. go for a peaceful start with quick expansion and Great Lighthouse, since you can build several cities on the coast and there are also small islands.
2. go for early war and take out Roosevelt (other neighbour is Gilgamesh, but he is protective and further away).
I have tried to build 3 cities, and go for construction rush, getting a great scientist via library to bulb math. Then, after taking out Roosevelt with axes/swords/catapults, I try to consolidate and go for lib/cuirassiers. The problem is, that I usually can't get economy going fast enough, so that my cuirassier attack date is not very good and I fail to get an overwhelming advantage.
I am also attaching another save of my most recent game from 75AD, after attacking Roosevelt. Would be really interested to get some feedback regarding this save. Like is this position good for 75AD? Am I on track to win or should I have done something differently?
I would be really interested in any tips to improve my game, what should I do better etc.
