they are a little less clear
but they both contain info concerning the referencing of your new dds file in XML

by the way what were you doing wrong...or did you solve it?

if you post your files I might have an easier time trying to fix your problem....

Oh, you helped, it shows in the city screen and civilopedia, just not the little circular icon that displays below a city in the main view.

Ok I examined your files and ran the game...

they all work fine:

The off-screen icon

The City Billboard

The Civilopedia

ALL work

I dont understand why they are not working for you


I know this is crazy but:

1) are u using the 1.61 patch for vanilla CIV4 (no warlords)?

2) are u using any mods with this?



you may want to try to put the files in a mod and load up the mod....


if that doesnt work I have no idea.....

all images work fine when I play it (1.61 patch for vanilla)


NOTE: for my convienence I place those files in a mod and tested that it that way....

dont know if that if affecting the billboard image

I use no mods, ever. (ever), I don't have Warlords yet, but I will, and yes, duh, I use 1.61.

sorry as I said before I tried your files and they worked fine for me....

I have no idea why they are not working

here is a extreme method (not for the faint of heart):

(Move your modded files in another temp directory/desktop)

Unistall and Re-Install CIV4 with all patches

put your modded files back in and see if it works

or re-edit those files (not using the modded files) to match your modded files
and try it again

no in my experience most posters here are not that friendly (However most of the modding forum posters are a bit more friendlier than the other non-modding forum posters)

Okay, I will try that. I am not "faint of heart", believe me, I have messed up game files and uninstalled and reinstalled lots of times (and not just with , either)
