I play either fractal or custom continents (random #)
Temperate, random sea level
Marathon, Huge map (18 civs), Prince or Monarch level
Random civ. I try to play towards each civ's strengths and go from there, but I am generally a builder. Though I've been getting gradually more warlike since civIV was released.
Standard Fractal/Continents, default climate and sea level.
Epic speed
Noble difficulty
All victories enabled
Barbs on
Since I still haven't played too many games, I'm currently trying out various leaders to try and test various strategies. I do tend to be a bit of a war mongerer, even when trying for peaceful victories though. After I've tried out enough strategies, I'll probably play with a random leader for the most part.
Warlords - Standard map size - Fractal script - up to 14 civs - normal speed - no time victory condition
All in hotseat mode, and human-controlled. I find the AI boring at the lower levels, and don't like playing with a calculator at the higher levels.
I generally role-play all the civs and have a whopping good time kicking the carp out of myself.
Every once in a while I'll load up a single-player game, but usually get bored long before the game is over.
Many thanks to Firaxis for keeping the multi-player hotseat in the game! Now, if they would only make a separate world-builder (a la C3C), and allow me to use those maps in multi-player mode, then I'll be totally content with cIV.
It differs from game to game.
Usually I play large, fractal, prince, no barbs, no vassal states (because they ruin wars ).
But sometimes, when I feel like warmongering, I play small pangea with 12-16 civs. It's cozy
