One of the flaws people have been saying, and one thing that has always bugged me was the way Tech Tree is set up that doesn't permit that freedom of choice that.. CIv 4 had.. or something along the lines of that.
And I've noticed that mostly applies to Modern/Future Era, and even in some ways INdustrial Era.
I've noticed that I try to make strategic choices in the earlier eras, i.e what I need, or what I'm going for.
But I've noticed that I just don't care that much during ending eras.
For example, once I get to the end of Industrial Era, I decide which Victory I'm going for, and go for the techs that permit the victory. i.e if I go for Science, I go for Rocketry and then the remainder of techs that give me the parts and then just click on Future Era so it automatically selects tech order.
When I go for Diplo I usually go to Globalization, and completely ignore the lwoer part of the tree.
When I go for Domination I treeline Atomic Bombs and then G.D.Robot.
I pretty much ignore what the techs actually give (i.e Sydney Opera House, or the units, or Research Labs) I find them useless (probably because I play on Quick and stuff, as well as on easier difficulties). But do others a similar issue?
