how does bombard work ?

is the rate of fire what determines if the bombard is going to fail or not ?
and if so what does the bombard number do ? determine the damage ?

and how does air defence work is it the aircraft attack number against the anti-aircraft defence number ?

The first question(s) are answered in the FAQ...quickly, though, RoF is the # of HPs it can take off, and bombard strength affects the probabilty of damage.

For the second question, I would search the forums...one note, though, is that in air combat, no one HAS to win, so your plane can just take damage and not die, and vice versa. I'm not exactly sure how air combat works though.
