How does custom soundtracks work?

I've tried clicking on music folders under the custom soundtrack menu, but i never hear the music i selected?? Could someone explain this feature to me?

I experimented with this the other night and it worked for me.

Just make sure you have .mp3's in the folder you selected... I don't think the program's smart enough to search through subfolders.
