Been playing CivIII for ages and the only thing I never figured out is how Rate of Fire works. What does it do? How does it impact your bombardment? I'm assuming that the bigger the number the better, but that's not too much of a stretch...:crazyeye:

Rate of fire tells you how many times an artillery-type unit can hit an enemy unit. For example, a cannon can only lower an enemy unit's hp by 1, since it has a rate of fire of 1, while an artillery proper lower an enemy unit's hp by 2. With the artillery proper unit, it can lower an enemy's hp by 2, but it can only fire once per turn.

Thanks for that. It explains why on some scenarios I get naval units with a lower bombardment stat who still inflict higher damage than others...

Cheers
