How does the emergent trait work?

[deleted stupidity in previous post]

Thanks :)

'Minor trait' == emergent trait right?

What's so great about emergent given that you're most likely not to gain more than one additional trait from it? It just means you play a good chunk of the game with a malus (-3 culture) instead of a bonus.

Is it just so that risk-taking gamers can aim for a killer trait combination that would normally be unavailable?

Yes, Minor = Emergent. It was originally called Minor (When Notque made it for his mod), and a while back I split minor and Emergent, with minor simply being normal leaders who don't appear in FfH. I've since made a LeaderStatus field, like Alignment, so traits aren't used for this in RifE.

Basically, it lets you develop your leader how you want to. You can get traits that are VERY unorthodox for the civ, for one thing. For another, you can play the same leader and end vastly differently based on your trait. Also, like I said above, RifE no longer uses traits for the system; No -:culture:. ;)
