How much is each unit worth?

When I deploy a tank... I assume it's an armored division. When I deploy an aircraft... I assume it's a "squadron. If I deploy an infantry... I assume it's an infantry division.

Am I correct on these assumptions? I can't seem to find any clear answers anywhere!

Thanks in advance.

No, they are more nebulous than that. Do not try to equate them to a real world sizes (this also should apply to distance and time units).

My working assumption is "enough to make up the stated combat strength." I figure you can assign the unit sizes as you please, to suit your vision of what's happening. Depending on map size, there might be more (small map, few units in play) or fewer (large map, lots of units running around) actual people and weapons and vehicles per unit.

Past that, what does it matter? It is as warpstorm says; real-world measurements aren't really relevant and wouldn't contribute anything to game play.

I cannot see a relationship between the in-game units and their real-life counterparts. Surely one battleship is just as much a single game unit as a warrior or a scout although in the real world a battleship has many more men than one. The worth of a unit (see thread title) could be taken as its cost in hammers, but even this would have to be re-thought in terms of its usefulness at a given moment: for example, artillery are splendid for reducing a city's defence by bombardment but poor at defence against tanks with Barrage 3
