how to build armies without a leader

can anyone help me with building armies now that I have the military academy. The information says I don't need a leader now but it does not explain how to build an army without the leader.

Build the Academy then Army will appear on your build menu for that city, if you have enough cities!

I think you need 3 cities for each army. If you get 3 armies then you can build the pentagon. You don't have to load the armies, which is good (wait for MI/MA's and go stomp someone!).

You actually need four cities for every army you build. The option appears in the build queue (sp?) on the city screen, same as market, temple, etc.
