Planet Busters. Fungal Payloads. Tectonic Payloads. How can I disable them? I don't want them in my game. I don't like Nukes in Civ 1/2/3, and I don't like these in SMAC/X....

I only have SMAC but I don't think you can disable them. If you don't like them, just make sure that the UN chart is never abrogated. It will usually prevent the factions to use them. And if they do, we can be sure that they won't last long after that.

Perhaps you should also take a look in the scenario creator, perhaps you can create a scenario without them.

I am not sure who to do this, but you could change the required tech to something crazy (transendent though 69 or the likes) that will never come to pass.

While I currently only have SMAC (AC is on its way from ebay though) I would suggest doing ANYTHING to can to keep everyone civil until you can build orbital defense pods. Then make a BUNCH of them and you will be protected.

If you really hate Busters, enter the alph.txt and give them 0 movement. Then they ought to be off your back. Easy as that.

You can do the same in civ2, but there the file you have to edit is called rules.txt.

did this a couple of days ago and does work, go into the alpha.in file go to the section called weapons, look for the planetbuster, there it should say the required tech to get it(should be "Orbital") , delete the tech and put in its place "disable". the dreaded planet buster should be no more in any future games(dosnt work for current ones).

Yep after a game is started it creates a Backup alpha.txt and uses that.
