Every time I play, Start is always good but after sometime my golds started decrease........ Even I moved citizen from one place to another but no result, he works for 1 or 2 turn then that citizen become un-happy. Either I have to change that guy to citizen or otherwise city disorder starts......if sometime everything works perfectly....some other civ. comes and asks hepty amount of gold for nothing....not even give me option to re-counter the trade.......any strategy

Thanks in advance

I don't really understand your question, but I'll try.

my golds started decrease
I take this as meaning "you start to run a deficit". Maybe you are building too many maintainance (sp?) buildings.

Even I moved citizen from one place to another but no result, he works for 1 or 2 turn then that citizen become un-happy.
Of course! Why would a change in scenary make him/her happier?

Either I have to change that guy to citizen or otherwise city disorder starts
Then use the luxury tax.

if sometime everything works perfectly
If only...

some other civ. comes and asks hepty amount of gold for nothing
That would be a "pay or die" statement. Pay if you can't defend.

any strategy
Be more specific. ;)

Thanks Tomoyo, but what do you mean by maintenance buildings? How do we build them? Thanks again in advance :)

Useless buildings like Colloseums are "Maintenance Buildings" because they require maintenance. (Yay! I actually spelled it right by copying you)

Every building has a maintenance cost associated with it. And each unit also costs gold (depending on your government type). Make sure you workers build roads so that your citizens can work those tiles for extra gold.

Keep an eye on your science rate. If it takes you 5 turns to research a tech at 60% and 5 turns to research at 50%, set the slider to 50%. In the early stages, this might net you an extra gold or two but later in the game, it could be a couple hundered.

Build roads to every tile that is worked. Each road gives you one gold extra. Build marketplaces and banks before colosseums and other "maintenance buildings". You can only use money if you first acquire it. Build roads. You don't have to worry so much about the gold - I usually keep income at minimum and science at maximum. Just don't let it fall down to zero. Build roads. Your citizens are most effectively made happy by luxuries. Acquire as many (different) luxuries as possible. Remember that difficulty affects the point where people start getting unhappy.

Build roads. You should have as many workers as you have cities, as a basic rule. This way you should be able to improve tiles somewhat at the same pace that they grow. Build roads. You shouldn't build any Colosseums and other happiness-buildings unless you need them. The same applies to barracks. They cost you maintenance, so building too many of them will do you more damage than good.

Build roads. You should disband (or upgrade) your obsolete units. Each unit costs you some, so having too much will decapitate your economy. The choice of government has much to do with the unit upkeep costs. You can see the loss of gold to units from either the military advisor or the domestic advisor. Build roads. Keep your military units in your cities as long as they produce happy faces (you can see it in the city window. A unit makes one unhappy citizen content when a face is displayed on it). This way you can have more people in your cities without rioting. You should check the civilopedia for each government's "military police limit" to see the maximum number of content faces produced by your units.

And if it didn't become clear during this: the most important single thing you can do is to build roads ;)
Good luck! :goodjob:

your tiles adjacent to a river will produce extra gold.. but that doesn't help very much.. i guess trade will be the key for you..
yeah u do need to a lot of luxuries..

Check with your military advisor frequently. If he tells you "Compared to these guys, we're weak" you're not building enough units and need a stronger military. That will make the AI's less likely to try to bully you.
If he says "Compared to these guys we have a strong military" and that civ tries to extort gold or resources from you, tell them "no" - they'll probably back down.
