I've never used a mod before.. I mainly play on consoles but I love to play all my Civ games regularly, Anyway.. I'm having trouble installing this mod and patch, When I select the modpack the game says not responding and then closes, So I can only assume I've done it wrong or missed something out, I deleted the files and want to give it another shot with some guidance.

Yes, I am a noob. Thanks in advance

I unzipped it to the desktop and then copied the files, maybe that was my problem?

How about the patch?

1. After unzipping the folder (Note: there's an extra layer of folder you want the one with other folders/files underneath it; not the one with just a folder of the same name) rename it to Caveman2Cosmos. ** You'll want to always use the same name when getting the newer versions so that the save games can be continued.

2. Move the folder itself to the Beyond the swords\Mods folder.

3. For the patch, just replace the specific files (NOT Folders!) found in the various locations under Caveman2Cosmos folder

4. Optional: I strongly suggest looking at this method for creating a desktop shortcut that won't mess up your normal BTS settings.

5. I also suggest reading through the C2C FAQ sticky thread and it's various links (particularly the 'Players How To Documentation). It's where I got the above shortcut creating meathod. *Note Viewports is now a BUG option, you don't need to modify a file to activate it.

Also if you want you could use the SVN which gives you all the latest updates

I wouldn't recommend that to a "noob" however, especially if they aren't sure of how to download/install the release version. It isn't hard to figure out, but it is a lot harder to explain than a simple download is to explain.

Don't need to be rude dude, I actually figured out the problem, My WinRAR was not unzipping certain files into the correct place.

I meant nothing by it (since you called yourself a noob), but explaining the SVN is a lot more complicated than explaining how to unzip a file. BTW, 7z is a better program than WinRAR.

Yeah I like 7zip a lot better then winRAR to (even though when ever I look at the word it reminds me of 7-up for some reason)
