How to make unit sounds properly?

I've tried following the Unit Sounds Tutorial here: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/unit-sounds-tutorial.264697/

but I can't get unit sounds to sound right in-game. The sound clips I use tend to sound very sped up, like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Some are so sped up, they sound like they don't play at all - but they do, just really fast.

I've noticed some unit sounds have different kbps and sizes than others, yet they sound just fine in-game.

Am I missing something? Is there some kind of trick to getting them to sound right?

Can you perhaps attach a sound-file that is misbehavin'? It's probably the fastest way to let others figure out the problem. If the sound plays too fast, it could be the frequency that is incorrect (22 050 Hz).

Haven't tested in-game, but after a quick look:
  1. AttackC was in Stereo not Mono.
  2. ZuluAttack was in the wrong frequency.
  3. ZuluAttack2 seemed to be fine.
  4. ZuluVic also seemed to be fine, but is probably too long.
Attached new files, if you want to try.

*Edit* They all sound fine in-game. Not sure what unit these are for, but keep in mind that the wav file should not be longer than the animation. Also, I used Audacity to convert all the files, but it can be time-consuming to sync the audio with the animation. There are other programs available like Sound Forge (Vuldacon uses this), which might accomplish this better.

Giving Sound Forge a try. I think the problem was the unit I was using to test sounds with had issues with timing the audio. I've figured out a few tricks with some of the Attack sequences for longer audio files, but if I can just time them better, then that is preferable. Thank you, Laurana.
