I was having troubles uninstalling civ 4 because i was getting an error something along the lines of (5009 : 0x0008ffff) I looked around the web following most of the suggestions but nothing worked.
Then I got an idea. I have a program called Revo Uninstaller, its freeware and its used to uninstall programs as well as registry entries and left over folders. I ran the program and told it to uninstall Civ 4 I got the same error, but the program still let me scan for registry entries and left over folders. The program successfully removed all of the registry items and deleted the files for me.
Just in case I ran CCleaner, another freeware, and ran the registry cleaner.
However, I have not tried to reinstall the program though
