How to see file properties? ex. blahblah.exe and such.

I currently formated my comp but know something has changed: The .extension has disapeared and I can't make a .txt file into an .exe file. How can I change that?

Open up Windows Explorer, Tools > Foulder Options... then goto the View tab, and uncheck this:
