I've recently switched from a Mac desktop to a Windows laptop. I've little familiarity with Windows beyond academic and work use.

My friend has a Windows laptop and we like to play BTS together. At my house, we simply do it online through Gamespy, but she doesn't have home broadband so that doesn't work at hers.

Do we have options for BTS multiplayer with two laptops in the same room and no internet connection, other than hotseat on one machine?

Hi, if you have a router that you can use, even without internet, you should still be able to use a direct ip connection. One player is the "host" and the other would just connect to the host computer's IP address assigned by the router. That should work.

Thanks for replying. We're both laymen and, whilst I've setup my router myself, none of that's familiar to me. We'd really appreciate if someone could post or link to a simple step by step guide.

Hmm. I'm trying to not muck around with my router, it's not practical to frequently disconnect it & take it out the house. We were hoping for a solution that would just require a cable; I'll see if we can scrounge an old router someone's got spare.
