How to start?

Hi,

I always dreamed to make my own scenario.
But I don't know how to start.
How do I place cities, units, improvements, etc.
Are there special program for this?

A good way to start would be to read the thread at the top: Scenario making for beginners. The first post in the thread has a link to a wealth of 'tip sheets' that explain a lot. Toward the end of that list of tip sheets is one about FAQ's: Civ2 Scenario Design FAQ. From there, just start exploring the rest of the 'Scenario making for beginners', etc.

It's fun whether you're making a simple modification of the basic game or designing 'the ultimate scenario'. If after reading a few tipsheets, you have more questions, don't be bashful. There are a lot of experienced designers here. I've tested them, they're patient and clever.
