how to stop riots??!!!!

I've always have this problem about my ppl having riots in the city and stopping the growth of my city. They all say they are not happy because theres too many ppl and theres not enough space. I've tried to seperate each city as far away as possible and it doesn't seem to work, and sometimes it even got worse because other country's city built next to us which was a pain!! please need help and advices!!

Check out the manual or civilopedia for the lowdown on controlling the little rioting beggars! The main thing you are confused with is that unhappiness is caused by overcrowding WITHIN the city, not with the number of cities close-by. This means that once the number of citizens (i.e. the size number next to the name on the main screen) goes above a certain number (e.g. 4 or 5), ALL new citizens will be unhappy unless something (eg city improvement) prevents that.

I won't bother you with the details on how to make them happy, check out the manual and civilopedia. Suffice to say that keeping you citizens happy is one of the two main challenges of the game (the other one being beating the snot out of the other guys,heh heh heh!).
