How to view the combat percentage on Civ 3?

OK, I may be mistaken here but when my units fight another unit, I thought that I could see what is the percentage of victory my unit might win for the battle.

Or is this feature only in Civ 4?

Can anyone care to enlighten me about this?

There is no calculating device like that for battle in Civ3, at least not for a player interface.

Just use the rule of thumb ~ No matter how well you are prepared, the RNG will make you lose enough battles that you military offensive will be slowed down enough to be tedious, instead of enjoyable.
