The 75% off deal was really too good and made it all extremely cheap. I had it before, but never on Steam and haven't had it on my computer since Civ V.

One weird thing though is that Steam lists all the games separately in the library, while for Civ V, it's altogether just under "Civ V". So, in the library, I have "Civ V" all inclusive, then "Civ IV", then "Civ IV: Warlords", then "Civ IV: BTW" and weirdest of all, there are -TWO- "Civ IV: Colonisation" pages.

Does anyone else have that happen? Why is that? And why is there two separate "Civ IV: Colonisation" sections (if you click on each one, it's a slightly different page with different background but both have the exact same game name).

But that's not the real problems. Once I bought it (the "complete" pack that's hard to find as it doesn't show up in search), it gave me the option to download after purchase. So I tried, and first weird thing is that when asking me what all of what I bought do I want to download, it had TWO of everything. Two "Civ IV", two Warlords, two BTS, two Colonisation. What to do? Do I need them all twice for some reason, like each is broken into two parts? Or is it a mistake and it will just take up twice as much room on my computer for no reason?

Anyway, I just chose to install all, but then the real problem came. After going through all the steps, it said I couldn't and to contact Steam help! I tried a few times and always the same thing.

I haven't tried downloading individual games yet from their page in my library, so I'm guessing that *may* work. But just wondering, what's going on with all this? Anyone know?

Yes, you unfortunately get 2 instances of each game, one for PC and one for Mac. You only need to click Install on one of the BTS copies, you don't need Warlords/Vanilla.

Actually, that is not weird at all for older games. CIV V is a newer game specifically designed for Steam and has the DLC model. All expansions and content for V come as "DLC" which is installed directly to the main game. Civ IV is a much older game and had nothing to do with Steam, so each expansion for IV has its own executable. Steam would have to reengineer the entire game to make it work like V in that regard, which is probably not cost effective. If you buy older non-Steam games on Steam like say "Dawn of War", each expansion has its own executable.

Colonization is, ofc, a separate game altogether.

I saw that dupes stuff in a screenshot that GKey posted recently (we working out another issue). Neither of us had a clue why there were 2 lines for each game/expansion. Interesting that Steam provides both the Mac and PC version since that is two separate products and price points - at least if bought elsewhere. Ofc, it means diddly for anyone without a Mac, but is quite a bargain for folks who use both.

I assume if you look at the properties it will tell you which executable is for the PC or Mac version.
