I need a TDG, please

Hi,

I am interested in a TDG, but I don't see anything of that kind open. I am no expert, and I could use some help. I have been playing Civ for 12 years (I am 14 now) but have only seriously gotten into this for about 4 years. I have played on Chieftain for all this time, except when I was 2, and my thinking wasn't quite straight (Hey, I get to be a King! For about all of 10 turns). I would love to get to be a better player. Is anybody interested?

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking here. Do you mean a Training Game? If that's what you meant you might be able to get some of the more experienced players to help you get one started, though it might be a good idea to state what difficulty level you are interested in trying to play at.

Yes, I want a training game! I am asking an experienced player to get me started. I want to start out by jumping to Regent; I'll look around.

Just some advice - read through GK2, probably the best training day SG ever. The players involved were Chieftain/Warlord players at the start and were turned into skilled players that were having success at Emperor level by the end of the thread. It is chock-full of all the advice you'd need to get to your skills up to Monarch level at least. It is a long read, but so worth it.

It also shows that a good training day thread requires a lot of work on the part of the teachers, so I'd suggest rather run a normal game while encouraging experienced lurkers and your fellow team members to comment on your moves. Discuss your ideas and gameplan with them and you'll almost certainly improve your gameplay.

I'll second that! I learned so much from just reading it, but I always laugh at the name "Training Day", because it took them about 15 months to play.
