I need help understanding monopolies and happiness.

How do I see what I gain by having a monopoly? How can I best address the constant happiness issues? thx .. neilkaz ..

In the upper right corner there is a button for reviewing monopolies.

When hovering over a resource, the tooltip indicates the bonuses of strategic reserves and monopoly, for example:
+2 Golden Age points (from ttiles with that resource), +25% Golden Age duration
+2 science (from ttiles with that resource)
+10% CS when attacking (empire bonus)
+10% CS when defendinhg (empire bonus)
+10% food in all owned cities (empire bonus)
+10% science (empire bonus)

In each city, when you hover over misfortune, you will see what exactly the residents lack. Some difficulties can be solved with the help of caravans, sending food, hammers to the city. Or by sending a trade caravan from the city for gold, science and culture to another empire.

Thx. I don't get the tooltips I see others get and use in their vidoes. I get nothing when I hover or a resource. How to I get the tooltips which also help me know exactly what the resourse is? I installed VP 3.2.1 right from here, so I have the EUI but don't now how to see icons over next to my resourses. Please advise.

A separate EUI had settings for the information displayed in tooltips. There are no such settings in the integrated one. You can try reinstalling VP, as well as changing the timing of the tooltips.

Thx, changing the timing of the tool tips makes the game better for me, but nothing I can do can tell me what I get for my copper monopoly!

You can either look in the $ symbol in the right upper corner and hover over Copper, or you can hover over any Copper resource and the tooltip will show. Hover over the exact image of the resource, not the tile.

Thx but whatdo I have to do to get the exact image of resources? I cannot get them no matter what I do!

You mean turn on the option down right next to the mini map to display the resource icons?

The resource icons? Left of the minimap (the small scroll) will have a toggle for that. You don't have only Copper to show up in the map or no resources at all?
