I need to drop their 500pt lead

I have the lead in techs, wonders and money. Unfortunately I am 500 pts behind France that basically has double the land mass I do. How do I drop France's point advantage??

Will cutting off its capital of roads do the trick??
I dont want to Invade since its gets messy and time consuming.

Oddly, I just demolished China and still they lead me in points!! Whats that about?? Why dont I surpass China? I applied the patch.

Anyway, Im looking for some tips on how to ruin their point advantage with the least invasive method.

That is pretty much the only way. Sorry. But can you win another way via culture, space race or diplomacy? Histograph win is usually goes to the one with most money, military, and land mass.

You could always form an alliance against them with their neighbors and let them do most/all the work.

Your overall score is an average across the game timeline. From here on out you'll be gaining more points per turn than the Chinese so eventually you'll pass them.
