but i was wrong! i thought wow one city (or however many i decide) and a whole civ is wiped out. after awhile i became bored with it and now i dont want to play elimination games anymore.
in my most recent and still current game im playing without the elimination option, all other ways of winning that i've been using were retained, wonder victory, mass regicide, domination, etc. and this game has been quite different from previous games which is say most of them were played with elimination. first off there is no one city civs in this game. that was good. i did limit the number of civs because i like a huge map and i want to play agaisnt LARGE civs and most of them have expanded nicely. second i notice that they seem to do research faster without the elimination option. not something i noticed before. might have something to do with them willing to create more than a handful of cities.
i do regret changing the setting to most aggressive as they all seem to hate me and i've been at war with no less then 5 of the other civs while only actually having battles with 3 of them. the other two were too far away to launch any kind of real attack against my mainland and since one was on their own island, i dont think they were equipped to send 50 galleons/caravels at one time.
i did enjoy not having the elimination option enabled though. it made a world of difference and i dont think i'll be using it with the AI anymore.
