I Want Patch

Don't get your hopes up. A few years ago, after compiling and emailing a huge list of bugs about civ 2, they released a patch that fixed exactly zero of them. But it added the french language. Woo hoo.

Later on they released some more civ spin-offs, all with the same bugs we listed.

I've heard sometime before xmas. But what will be fixed...we'll see.

They said at the end of the month first. Then before xmas. Now i have heared a little after xmas. I don't think we will see it for some time. A good guess would be 2 months, But it will be a small patch just fixing the game killing bugs like airpower.

I hope by the time Civ4 comes out they get all the issues in Civ3 taken care of.

I've read in Apolyton that a patch will be done in the week 49 (so next week).

Well, given the reality of the software business, getting the Mac version of Civ3 in stores is more important than patching the PC version, so that is why we wait...

Jeff Morris from Firaxis said 'possibly next week' (first full week of December). And I've heard quotes from many Firaxians (Dan, Jeff, Soren) stating that while they aren't allowed to say exactly what the patch will cover, it will be 'quite extensive'.

Uh yeah...except that Firaxis isn't writing the Mac port. Westlake Interactive is.

They said on a chat log i read "Possibly before xmas" I take that as they will try and have a patch tested and ready for dowmload by the 23rd of December. However they keep the door open for a later release of the patch. So a safe guess would be by the 15th of January 2002. I hope im wrong and it's done in the next week or two. But that is wishful thinking on my part.

Patch Update

Hey guys. I wanted to drop you a line about the upcoming patch. We've sent it off to testing and baring any unforeseen problems it should be available some time next week. That is not a promise that it WILL be available next week however, since any number of things can cause a reset. We're on v1.14f right now, it being the 7th patch we've submitted to testing, only to find showstoppers.

Just keeping you in the loop.
