I have only played half a dozen or so Civ 5 games. However after finishing my latest one I noticed that it was not recorded in the in game Hall of Fame and I got no steam achievement for 1st diplo victory.

If you use mods in the game does that mean the game will not feature in the Hall of Fame. I only want to know as in Civ IV I liked to see how I was progressing in general terns over a period of time and also to see in which games and victories I scored highest.

Yes. Using mods of any kind automatically invalidates your game in terms of achievements, hall of fame, etc., because in theory you could use a mod that just made the game pathetically easy and get all of the achievements that way. So, the game doesn't distinguish games using UI mods from those with total rebalancing; any mod at all will prevent your game from counting.

Thanks for the reply. That was what I thought. Just a shame that cosmetic and UI changes mean that if you want to record progress you will have to do it yourself. That is probably what I will do.
