Raden Vijaya, also known as Nararya Sangramawijaya and his regnal name Kertarajasa Jayawardhana was a Javanese emperor and founder of the Majapahit Empire who ruled at 13th Century. His rule was marked by the victory against Mongol Army in Java with the aim of revenge for Kertanagara's humiliation of the Mongol messenger. However, Kertanegara was already dead. Vijaya initially made an alliance with the Mongols with the aim of attacking Kediri the most strongest empire in Java and their ruler Jayakatwang. When Jayakatwang was defeated and destroyed , at which point Vijaya turned and attacked the Mongol force.
