Infinite Strategic resources?

The A.I. performs terribly without, say, iron. Rather than building useful units it'll still spam warriors. Is there any way to add infinite resources? My best guess would be to have farms/trade outposts provide iron, except I'm not sure how to do that.

You could resource requirements from units (en masse with the UPDATE statement)
