Hey everyone,
I just got Civ III:Complete Edition and I can't get it to install!!!

It installs about 15% of the first disk, then gets stuck and finally gives me this message:

"Error 1305.Error reading from file C:\Program Files\Firaxis\Civilization III\Art\Flics\Xe_01.flc. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."

It also warns me before I install the game that previous versions have been detected, and to uninstall them before I continue, but I do not have any other versions installed. I downloaded the trail program, used the 60 minutes, then decided to go ahead and buy the CDs from Best Buy. I uninstalled the program through Windows Control Panel properly. I've searched for any traces of the program, and I can't find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could do? Is there any type of cleaning program that will get rid of old files?

p.s. I know it's not the CDs that are not working, as I installed it on my work computer just to see if it would installed. Just FYI.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!!!

Hi tex402. Error 1305 is a windows error message. It means there is a problem with the CD, the CD-ROM drive, or other things depending on your operating system. I suggest going to microsoft support and searching their site for what the message means and possible solutions. Good luck.

I got something like this, only it was on the last CD (Civ 3 Complete), some file. It worked on other computers I installed it on, but it would not work for my bedroom PC. So I just broke down and bought a new copy and the install went off without a hitch.
