Installation problem

When I try to install the game i get an error that reads:
Feature: DefaultFeature
Component: Civ4component
File: I:/data2cab
Error: Data error(cyclic redundancy check)

I am sorry if this has been answered before but I could not find any information on this.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've been trying to fix it for a while. I've tried using MSConfig to disable all my startup programs, I've tried installing while in safemode. If anyone could help out, it'd be great.

CRC is failed attempt at copying a file from disk usually caused by a defective disk or dirty disk.

Did you call tech support for this?

That should be the response you get.

A way to test would be to try and install it on someone elses computer.
