Installing DX9 - What's Wrong?

When trying to run the game, I get the error saying D3DX9_26.DLL is not found.

Okay, fine. So I try to install DX9 from the CD by double clicking DXSETUP from the disc (there was no option to install DX9 during the game installation routine - and I tried it twice). But when I do that I get this error:

The application or DLL D:\DirectX9\DSETUP32.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

My D:\ drive is the cdrom drive with the install disc in it, so it's saying that the setup DLL is corrupt on my disc??? Have any of you seen this?

How can I install the correct version of DX9 to get this %#@*# game to run?

I don't have the game yet, but apparently others have had this problem. Here's a link that was given that may solve your problem:

Download your missing DLL file from that site. It kind of explains the issue, but I don't know much about it.
